SCOOP: This is the New Porsche Macan Compact SUV

Written By Ishimaru Kaito on Rabu, 09 Mei 2012 | 11.18

No more hiding under the body panels of the Audi Q5 for the Porsche Macan as the Stuttgart automaker's engineers took a completed prototype for a ride in Germany and our spy photographers were on hand to capture it on film.

Lifting a page from the 911 prototypes, Porsche's people added some goofy-looking head- and tail lamp covers mimicking the style of the larger Cayenne to confuse us, but the rest of the car matches the teaser sketch released by the company in February during the announcement of the name.

The overall exterior styling is very close to the Cayenne but the Macan is smaller in size and features a swoopier roofline.

The Macan shares its platform architecture with the Audi Q5, which means its key dimensions will be similar to Ingolstadt's crossover model.

To Valet, or Not to Valet... it's not a question. Don't. Here is one example, if you didn't get it when you watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Written By Ishimaru Kaito on Rabu, 18 April 2012 | 20.24

The approximately $400,000 pileup reportedly happened when a valet drove a Maserati into -- and under -- a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which crashed into a Mini Cooper and a vintage Porsche 356.

The Epic Hotel in downtown Miami witnessed an epic crash involving expensive cars on Friday night. Onlookers revealed a Maserati Gran Turismo spiraled out of control and crashed into a number of cars.

I think before I hand over the keys to my car, I'm going to make sure the valets are bonded, licensed, and insured by some company that is fast with paying off damage claims.

police found the valet driving the Maserati ‘was coming down a parking garage ramp too fast, lost control, and drove his luxury sports car right under the SUV’

Maserati Smashes Into a Porsche 356, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Mini Cooper Countryman in Miami

Written By Ishimaru Kaito on Sabtu, 14 April 2012 | 11.40

In one way, the Epic Hotel in Downtown Miami justified its name on Friday night when the driver of a Maserati GranTurismo crashed into a host of cars including a latest generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Mini Cooper Countryman and a classic Porsche 356 speedster – though we don't know if the latter is original or one of the many replicas.

There are many conflicting reports about the incident circulating around the web, including that the Maserati driver was a valet and not the owner, but nothing that we can confirm.

"Mystery" 2012 Porsche 911 Patent Images Show Aerokit and SportDesign Package

Written By Ishimaru Kaito on Selasa, 10 April 2012 | 17.35

A Carscoop reader from France pointed us to L'Automobile Magazine and an article with half-a-dozen patent images, allegedly showing a future addition to the latest 2012 Porsche 911 series since the car featured a fixed rear wing and a different front bumper with an apron.

To make a long story short, the French publication writes that these photos likely show the upcoming four-wheel drive Porsche 911 4S, possibly with a sports package. We dug a little bit further and found two more sets of patent images, with each 911 being equipped with the same front bumper but different rear wings.

Nevertheless, just before posting our finds, we deemed it necessary to check Porsche's official site, and good thing we did. As it turns out, the magazine was only partially right. While it is indeed a 911 equipped with a sports package, it isn't the Carrera 4S but the already available, rear-wheel drive Carrera S.

Porsche Sports up the Cayenne with New 414hp GTS Model, Bows at the Beijing Auto Show

If you don't want the Turbo version of the new Cayenne but still need more power and sportier characteristics than the Cayenne S, Porsche today announced that it will debut the new Cayenne GTS at the Auto China 2012 motor show in Beijing later this month.

Following a similar recipe to its predecessor as well as the Panamera GTS that was revealed at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show, the new edition of Porsche's premium crossover offers a more powerful engine and a tauter chassis with a lower ride height.

The Cayenne GTS is motivated by an uprated version of the Cayenne S' 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 delivering an extra 20hp for a total output of 414hp (420PS). An eight-speed Tip-tronic S automatic transmission with an integrated auto start/stop function and a lower final drive transfers power to all four wheels.

the 1955 Porsche convertible in the Arkansas Ozark woods... just one of dozens of cars found in the Ozark Natl Forrest, a Natl Park for petes sake! Perhaps they had been stolen and dumped?

Found in in this months (Feb 2012) issue of Auto Enthusiast, a good all around magazine

If you get a thrill out of learning about abandoned cars, like Barn Finds, but up for grabs because they were left in the middle of no where, on public property (the desert, the wide open places between towns in the midwest)  you might alos like a book by Will Shiers, it's called Roadside Relics. Which is on Amazon.com starting at 15 bucks used, all the way to a hundred bucks for new hardcover editions http://www.amazon.com/Roadside-Relics-Americas-Abandoned-Automobiles/dp/0760327483
