one of 3 Corvettes of Briggs Cunningham's LeMans team of 1960, they won first in class with this trio

how about this gauge cluster... why not make them this way from the factory? it's what the racers wanted, and isn't it what a sports car owner wants too?

Anyone know about this unusual speedometer? With a clock on the inside... I don't recall ever seeing a 70mph speedometer before in a sports car, ditto ever seeing a speedometer with a clock in it. I've seen tachs and clock combos... anyway, odd gauge, if you know what the info on it is, please share. jbohjkl@yahoo.com

Below is what another of the trio looked like. Thought you'd like to compare them.

I just love that I snapped the last shot, in perfect focus, right when he flashed a wha Hoo sign, and grinned in triumph as he looked my way to receive attention for his odd front end suspension. Good for you man, right on.

Joe Maurath's collection focuses on streetlights and insulators, but he's also got high voltage signs, switches, and police call boxes. Movie companies rent them from time to time to use in period films. http://www.vintagestreetlights.com/  and click on My Collection (5th link on the left down) but the photos are small and about useless to see the collection. A few photos of sinle lights are allright.

One of 5 specially constructed 1929 boattail roadster Essex, by Hudson, coachbuilt by Biddle and Smart... all to make the Essex regional (5 regions got 1 each) sales increase when customers learned what a great car Essex made.

now... why is the bottom line in a language obviously not on an original factory tag?
I noticed that the top of this fuel apparatus says Vacuum Gasoline System

 what an exquisite instrument panel

How the running board rubber mat has remained in such incredible condition is a mystery, could anyone be reproducing such a small sales item? Who could possibly buy enough of these to make a company produce them for profit?
Odd that the kick plate is not one the running board, but keeps feet from damaging the alloy (which I think means Aluminum) custom handmade bodywork

this is only the 2nd Essex I've ever seen in San Diego
